Footboxing
If you saw the Portugal-Holland match you know what I mean. It was mind-blowing to see the wacko referee who couldn't rule over the game, see some head/testicle-kicking... with the goalkeepers involved. It was one of the most eventful football match I have ever seen (in addition to the '94 final with penalties, of course). Nóri -in full orange armour-is still numb and I'm gladly bringing my daily tidings to you.
It was truly a crazy game. The highlight for me was when two Dutchmen and Deco were sitting by the line after having been ordered off (red-carded) and discussed the game in peace. Maybe that was the most peaceful moment of the entire game. In my (righteous) opinion, penalties should have decided the game. The Dutch did have wonderful solutions, possessed the ball more and tried very hard. In the meanwhile the strong Portuguese defense and aggressive starting out had its merits...
Maybe you are getting bored by now, but there were other divine meetings taking place tonight. Ok, Millenáris is not THAT big, but also not THIS small...
First Dodó (who just returned from Denmark), Olivér and Berni (whom I last saw maybe in Greece 6 years ago) waved towards us.
While sitting on the grass I turn and there is Henk a Dutch friend from CC... and in minutes Dani, Dávid, Olivér2 and Sziszi show up (all from CC, too). To make it even more fun, Dani & Dávid were there with us yesterday too. The only time we see each other -I remarked- is either when we lift our hands to praise God or when staring at the screen with beer in our hands :)
And last but not least KertészDr whom I have already written about here. Chatted a bit, he has a new dental office very close to my house and I could smile a big and show him the brace-ordered set of teeth he has never seen before. It's funny that from jmpoint he's the second guy I bump into in this short period of time.
Back to the football match. Would someone please send me the link if you find a video of the three players sitting and chatting? I would very much appreciate that. Thank you!!!
Hi Marc,
Totally agree on that. I'm a dutch fan, so i was sad that the two countries met in such an earlier stage of the competition.

You're right that the Dutchies didn't play their best tournament. I have no problem with Portugal beating us. But it's hard to be satisfied with a match like this, there have been times when watching soccer was more fun.

Dear-dear Nuno, thank you so much for coming by and commenting!!! I'm still not that fluent in Portuguese... when are you starting an English blog?!? ;) Much love, warm hugs to your family and to Ita as well! And viva la Portugal!!! I really supported them (you) against the Greeks two years ago. (and it was not only to cause trouble to Demis, who is from Cyprus :) not also from my heart.) Hope to see you soon!

Hi Gabi,
Funny to read your comments,as well as Marc's, but i sincerely think that the young dutch players couldn't handle the pressure. I think it all started with the agression on C. Ronaldo. For us, hot blooded latinos, was enough to start responding. Sorry for the referee also. Ah! Just to remember that in 10 games we only lost 1 against the "Laranja"!

So who are you going to support now? And my sympathies. Van Basten made some bad decision too I guess...
We were screaming when the yellow/red-card storm started and the reporter jokingly noted after a while: "Ahh, ten minutes passed without a card given!" ;)

Yes, agree, it was a crazy game. Four red cards and nearly twenty yellows. The good thing is that when you mix that you get ORANGE. But hey, the strongest team doesn't always win.
