Well, it's not what I mean. Slowly certain things change, which would have seemed unconceivable just a couple of years ago. The fact is that we don't need to go anywhere, don't need to do anything special to have a great Friday/Saturday night. It's enough to cook a lovely meal, smoke the waterpipe, drink and talk or watch a DVD.
This is what happened last Friday, since a beloved contemporary author and I decided it's better if I don't cough away his reading nite. So I stayed at home, my friend of 12 years (Juli) came over and we ate some leftovers, drank good wine, smoked two rounds of sisha and looked at quilting magazines (she might get hooked, we'll see). It didn't matter that we listened to the same Turkish groove three times in a row, it perfectly fit the overall atmosphere. And she said sth hilarious in connection with the choco-mint tobacco we were enjoying. She said it's the dietary version of After Eight chocolate. You get the taste and that unmistakable minty after-taste... without the calories!!! :)
The previous weekend the exact same occurrence happened, as it did two weeks prior to that. Palma, Christina and Zsuzsi came over and we cooked sth, ate and watched a movie.
Before I forget here is the list of our recent DVD rentals. As you can see it is rather widespread. I'm happy it's not only me choosing, because we would be watching movies like the Barber of Siberia and the Arizona Dream or a Clockwork Orange all the time!

Hmmm, would not have chosen it on my own, but reading this http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0403358/ it's truly promising... we didn't watch anything this past weekend just filled out tummy with African chapatis http://www.congocookbook.com/staple_dish_recipes/chapati.html and yellow peas stew with cream, onion and spices.
